As part of her work in reaching our school community our HCSL has been involved in organising community allotments. These have been very successful in recent years and have provided much enjoyment for all involved.

Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed offers state of the art sporting facilities. In our sports “Dome” situated on our campus we have a high performance gym and weights room and a multi-sport indoor arena with spacious male and female changing areas. Our outdoor facilities include a full sized Gaelic pitch, soccer field, hurling wall and hard-court area.
At Coláiste Mhurie Co-Ed we ain to provide a wide range of sporting activities such as hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, athletics, badminton, orienteering, basketball, tennis and squash. Other activities are catered for upon interest.
At Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed we maintain a high level of participation in Munster and All-Ireland competitions. To complement the external competitions we organise many internal class leagues in sports such as hurling soccer and table tennis. As a school we also pride ourselves in our connections with our local communities of sports clubs and organisation, working closely with the GAA and FAI.
Through the medium of sport we aim to educate and develop each student personally, physically and socially in fun and welcoming environment.
School Concert
In recent years the music, English and PE departments have been instrumental in producing our school show. Past productions have included such titles as Grease, Mama Mia, Camp Rock and most recently High School Musical. Our students’ dedication to these productions, has been, and will continue to be paramount to their success. Every year our students volunteer from all years and rehearse from September until opening night – while always insuring the monthly grades remain true to their ability. The positive, focused and fun atmosphere that surrounds these highly successful productions permeates our school from September on and continues to be a driving force for the level of interest that surrounds them.
Homework Club
The Homework Club operates two evenings per week. Research suggests that the Homework Club is a positive educational support, improves students academic ability, work habits, social adjustment and peer relationships. We are indebted to the School Completion Programme for their excellent work on this project.

VEC Awards
North Tipperary VEC invites its colleges to nominate students of excellence in various sporting and academic categories.
Each year these students are honoured at a presentation ceremony. This programme provides nearly sixty awards in areas such as Gaeilge; Literature; Sport; Art; ICT; Academic, Personal and Educational Achievement; and the Phil Carroll Music Bursary.
Gaisce Awards
The Gaisce program is an important part of our Tranisition year programme and all students of TY are encouraged to sign up to take on the challenge.
The program at Bronze level involves 13 weeks of organised physical activity, 13 weeks of community involvement and 13 weeks learning a new skill. As part of the programme, participants are also involved in a mini-expedition. In recent years our princiapl Mr Quinn and a past parent Commandant Michael Walsh (Retd & former aide de camp to H.E. the President of Ireland) have led a very sucessful expedition to the Dingle penninsula. This has been the highlight of tranisition year for many of our students.
Gaisce is a fantastic opportunity for students to consolidate the various elements of their co-curricular life at Colaiste Mhuire CoEd into a single award in addition to introducing them to excitement of planning and undertaking an expedition.
Expeditions at Bronze level are usually based in Ireland but Gold level expeditions venture further afield and have been the starting point for many of Irelands more accomplished contemporary adventurers.
It is hoped that Gaisce will continue to grow as an integral part of the Transition program at Colaiste Mhuire CoEd and that students will build on their experiences after TY graduation to work towards Silver and Gold awards.
